01 / Apple Music access

With your permission, layao uses Apple’s MusicKit to search the Apple Music catalog and your library, display songs, albums, artists, playlists and artwork, check playback eligibility, and play the music you choose. Library and playlist actions may update your Apple Music library when you initiate them. Playback requires the applicable Apple Music entitlement.

Requests for music, artwork, playback, and library actions go to Apple’s services. Apple handles your Apple Account, subscription, authorization, and music delivery. layao does not ask for or store your Apple Account password or payment card information. Apple may process usage and listening information under its own Apple Music privacy notice.

02 / Information stored on your device

layao stores recent searches, local listening history, favourites, preferences, optional profile name, player layouts, companion settings, and cached music or recommendation information in its application storage on your device. These records support search, playback, Home suggestions, and the appearance you choose. Home personalization uses local listening activity; it is not an advertising profile.

AtmaVox does not receive these records through an app backend. Device backups may include local app data depending on your Apple and device settings. Those backups are managed by you and Apple, rather than AtmaVox.

03 / Optional weather and location

If you enable “Use local weather” for the companion room, layao requests location access while the app is in use. The app requests coarse location accuracy (approximately three kilometres) and uses the location returned by iOS with Apple WeatherKit to obtain local weather. Your permission and iOS settings determine the accuracy supplied.

Location is used for this optional weather feature, not for advertising or listening personalization. The app does not persist coordinates as a location history or send them to an AtmaVox server. Weather requests go to Apple. Disable the feature or deny location access and the room can follow local time instead.

04 / Sharing, support, and this website

layao has no third-party advertising or analytics SDK and does not sell personal information, track you across apps, or send your music history to advertisers. Apple processes information needed for the MusicKit and WeatherKit services described above under its own policies.

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to answer your request and retain correspondence only as needed to resolve and document that request or meet legal obligations. Ask us to delete support correspondence; we will delete what we can and explain any legally required retention. Do not send passwords, payment details, or unnecessary personal information.

This website does not add advertising cookies or analytics. Its hosting provider may process IP addresses and technical request logs to deliver and secure the site. Visiting this site does not give us access to your Apple Music library.

05 / Protection and retention

layao uses Apple’s authorization and service interfaces for music and weather. Local records use the app’s iOS storage container and the device’s operating-system protections. This does not mean every local record is independently encrypted by layao. Use a device passcode, current iOS, and appropriate backup settings to protect your device.

Search and listening records remain locally until cleared. Preferences and other local app records remain until changed or the app is deleted. Cached service responses can be replaced as the app refreshes data. No security measure can guarantee protection in every circumstance.

06 / Your controls and deletion

• In layao Settings, use Clear searches to remove saved search terms.
• Use Clear listening history to clear local listening history and learned Home suggestions. This does not remove favourites, saved playlists, or Apple’s listening records.
• Turn off Home personalization or local weather in the app’s settings.
• Revoke music or location permissions through iOS Settings. This stops the affected access but does not automatically erase local history.
• To remove remaining local app data, delete layao through iPhone Storage using Delete App; offloading the app retains its documents and data. Copies in device backups are subject to your backup settings.

Deleting layao does not cancel Apple Music or delete your Apple Music library. Manage Apple-held information and subscriptions through Apple. Because layao has no separate account or developer-hosted listening-history database, there is no layao account to delete remotely.

07 / Children, rights, and changes

layao is not directed at children under 13. Apple account and service eligibility rules apply. We do not knowingly collect children’s information through support. Contact us if a child has supplied personal information.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal information we hold, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights for support information. For app data stored exclusively on your device, use the controls above; for Apple-held data, contact Apple.

This policy is effective October 3, 2026. We will update this page if our practices change and seek permission where required.
